2011 BMW X3
Today, BMW revealed the first official details of your second technology X3 ahead of it’s debut in Paris. Let’s just hope it seems superior to the old one did.
Costs for that new design will be around similar to the outgoing model, because the new X3 has been completely redesigned and re-engineered. BMW hopes that the changes will help the second generation X3 sell as well as the initial generation did. Chances are it will, as the BMW badge is worth its weight in gold these days. In reality, the old X3, despite being ugly as sin, has sold over 600,000 models since 2003.

The photos of the pre-production model show the newest X3 better than ever. Seems like that the brand new X3 will keep the two-box silhouette and also the hard edged styling that graced the old X3.
“We wanted to ensure there was a clear visual link with the first-generation design. When you see it in the steel without disguise for the initial time there’s no doubting it is an X3,” an insider told Autocar.
The brand new BMW X3 will ride on an adapted four-wheel drive technique from the all-new European 3-Series. The X3 has also let itself go, with an additional 15 millimeters added to the wheelbase.
This new founded girth will assist the X3 fit beautifully in between the X1 and the X5. Amazingly, BMW technicians have raised the dimensions of the vehicle, but reduced the weight by 25 kilos on the entry-level type.
Inside, the X3 is quintessentially BMW. The materials will be of fine top quality and the instruments and switchgear will be similar to those found on the 5-Series. An added size helps interior area and rear seat legroom by 20mm.

Under the hood, the UK market will be getting four different motor types. Don’t expect the U.S sell to receive the same treatment, because the two turbo-diesels will probably stay in Europe. The gas-powered engines will be a 3.-liter inline six-cylinder that may produce 268 hp, while a 302 horsepower turbocharged 3.-liter will also be available.
Transmissions for the UK market include a six-speed manual and an eight-speed automated with auto stop/start technology. The latter of these two gearboxes will be the one the usa will probably be getting.
To help you the ride, BMW has equipped this new X3 with variable damping control.
Expect to see the X3 in the Paris Motor Show this year.
